Accessibility in Fly Trap

Fly Trap is played with one thumb, in portrait, in short sessions. Here is what helps you play it your way, and what it does not support yet. Some of these arrive with version 1.4.0, coming to the App Store and Google Play in October 2026. Most are in Profile, under Settings and Controls.

Seeing

Dark by default

Every screen is dark, with mid-toned paintings and no white screens.

Colour is never alone

The Colorblind palette moves the game's danger and creature colours to a palette made for colour blindness and rings every creature in its colour. Every warning carries a shape as well as a colour, and a rival's ground has its own pattern and face.

High contrast

A High contrast setting strengthens text and outlines, and it follows your phone's Increase Contrast until you set it yourself. Reading text meets the 4.5 to 1 contrast guideline even without it.

See where you steer

The Heading arrow shows which way you are going, and the Control hint shows how to steer.

Motion

Reduced motion

Follows your phone's Reduce Motion, with a switch of its own in Settings. Glows and flashes dim, celebrations appear without slides or bounces, the lucky wheel stops on its prize instead of spinning, and the map holds still. The hero and the creatures on a board still move: that is the game.

Pace and control

Steering sensitivity

Gentle, Normal or Quick: how far a drag goes before it counts.

Gentle pace

Near misses slow time down more, so there is more time to react.

Starting shield

A free shield on every run absorbs one hit.

Zen Garden

No clock and nothing that can catch you: tend a garden at your own pace.

One hand, offline

Portrait, one thumb, short sessions. No internet connection and no account needed.

Sound and touch

Your own mix

Sound and music each have their own switch and volume, and haptics their own switch. The game has no speech and no video.

Language and purchases

12 languages

English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).

A PIN for purchases

Purchases can ask for a four-digit PIN, set in Settings.

Not supported yet

VoiceOver

Menus, buttons and popups are labelled and read aloud, but a board is played by drawing a line between moving creatures, which VoiceOver cannot do yet.

Voice Control

For the same reason: a cut is one continuous drag.

Larger Text

The game keeps its words at their designed size so every screen fits; a few reading lines grow with your phone's text size, up to 1.3 times.
